LCQA Update

I finally grabbed a few minutes to sew the latest block for the LayerCake quilt along. (link in sidebar)
Here is my block.

Now I remember why I don't use stripes in pieced blocks - I lack the grace to line them up nicely.

I think the basket is cute. I don't think stripes need to be perfectly lined up. The turned corner is folksy and adds interest.

I don't think the horizontal stripes will look out of line once the block is in a quilt.

I like using stripes because they always add interest. I really think your block is cute!

Looks great! I like your flowers in your basket, very sweet.

it looks great to me....but, tell me...how did you do your signature thingy?

Definitely flowers in a basket, and the reeds of a real basket couldn't look any better than your unmatched stripes. I agree with Tonya, it looks great to me!

I like that turned striped corner, too. Stripes are tricky, though......as well as many directional print fabrics!

Lined up or not, I like your block, especially the pretty flowers.

I didn't even notice till you mentioned it. I wouldn't know if I have the grace to line up stripes (though I doubt it) because I KNOW I haven't got the patience!!

Gene, I like your stripes...they add character to the block!!!

Don't be so hard on yourself. I have trouble matching same color solids!!! Looks good to me!

Gene, I like your block and the stripes look fine with me! I think it was either Marianne Fons or Liz Porter who said, referring to her use of plaids, that the way she handled the alignment was to "not worry about it!"

I really like the block with the stripes that don't line up perfectly. Great block.

Beautiful block and I didn't even notice that the stripes didn't match until you mentioned it. I guess I look at the Big picture.
